Call For Film Submissions – Fourth Edition

Imperfectu: International Film and Gender Studies Festival calls filmmakers, film producers and film distributors to submit their films to its Fourth Edition, which will take place from November 16th to 18th in Tijuana, Mexico.
The fourth edition of Imperfectu: International Film and Gender Studies Festival will focus in the relation among Body, Science and Technology. Our objective is to bring to the audience a program that includes the past and present cinema, along with academia, art, activism, and collectives, about topics such as: postgenderism, cyberfeminism, cyborg anthropology, functional diversity and transhumanim, the intersex body and the medicine, the transexual body and the medicine, gender/sexuality and robots, the future of contraceptives, eugenics, girls and youg women and the new technologies, queer/cyborg and identity, technology and rejuvenation and immortality.
All selected works will be programmed and exhibited during festival days.
All selected works for this edition will become part of Imperfectu’s audiovisual archive. The filmmakers authorize the festival the exhibition of their project (or excerpts thereof) in events where Imperfectu participates, for educational purposes, and/or festival promotion.
Imperfectu accepts works in any genre (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, etc.) regardless of the original format (video, HD, 8mm, 16mm, 35mm, etc.)
There is no limit to the duration of the audiovisual work, nor with respect to the date or origin of the production.
Submitted works must contain or make a reference to any topic that relates body-science or body-technology.
If your work is in Spanish, you must send it with English subtitles. If your work is in English, you must send it with Spanish subtitles. If your work is in any other language, you must send it with both Spanish and English subtitles.
To register your work, you must pay the submission fee (15 USD / 30 USD) and send us your entry choosing one of the following options:

d. Using Withoutabox, where you will be able to pay the submission fee and send your online screener.
If your work is selected, you must send in a high resolution copy in .mp4 format with the following attachments: press kit, production photos, DVD/bluray cover design, postcards, posters, and any links to reviews.
The regular open call deadline is May 1st 2017. The late deadline is June 1st 2017.
The selected projects will be published on September 1st 2017 on our website.
