ACNUR: MA. Anya Victoria, “The Persecution of the Genre: The LGBTI Refugees In Mexico”


Associate Protection Officer of UNHCR in Mexico .
Law degree from the Universidad Panamericana and Master of Laws with specialization in Human Rights from the University of Notre Dame, USA. She has completed several courses and programs at the University of Chile, American University, University of Toronto and the Centre for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) .
She was Coordinator Joint Program of the United Nations in Chiapas to prevent gender violence in indigenous communities. She has worked as a consultant for Project Due diligence Northeastern University and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) . She was a fellow at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). She has also worked with civil society organizations as a trainer and in preparing shadow reports to be presented to UN committees .
She is currently the Associate Protection Officer in Mexico  of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) ,
